เปิดตัว นวัตกรรมทุ่นกักขยะลอยน้ำโมเดลใหม่ Gen3  

 

กรุงเทพ – 10 มิถุนายน 2567 : เอสซีจี เคมิคอลส์ หรือ SCGC ผู้นำธุรกิจเคมีภัณฑ์ครบวงจรเพื่อความยั่งยืน เดินหน้าภารกิจพิทักษ์ทะเลเพื่อฟื้นฟูและเพิ่มความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพให้กับระบบนิเวศทางทะเล ตามแนวทาง ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) ที่ส่งเสริมด้าน Low Waste & Low Carbon โดยได้ขับเคลื่อน “นวัตกรรมเพื่อพิทักษ์ทะเล” (Innovation for Better Marine) อาทิ นวัตกรรมทุ่นกักขยะลอยน้ำ บ้านปลาเอสซีจีซี รวมทั้งได้ร่วมก่อตั้งเครือข่าย “Nets Up” โมเดลการสร้างมูลค่าเพิ่มด้วยหลักเศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียนเพื่อทะเลยั่งยืน เปลี่ยนอวนประมงที่ไม่ใช้แล้ว สู่ Marine Materials วัสดุทางเลือกใหม่จากนวัตกรรมรีไซเคิล

ในโอกาสวันทะเลโลก (World Oceans Day) ประจำปี 2567 ภายใต้แนวคิด “ปลุกกระแส แก้วิกฤตมหาสมุทร” (Awaken New Depths) SCGC ได้มอบ “ทุ่นกักขยะลอยน้ำโมเดลใหม่ : SCGC - DMCR Litter Trap Gen3” จำนวน 25 ชุด ให้กับกรมทรัพยากรทางทะเลและชายฝั่ง (ทช.) กระทรวงทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม เพื่อนำไปกักขยะลอยน้ำบริเวณปากแม่น้ำลำคลองสาขาต่าง ๆ ไม่ให้หลุดรอดสู่ทะเล โดยมีพลตำรวจเอก พัชรวาท วงษ์สุวรรณ รองนายกรัฐมนตรี และรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม พร้อมด้วยนายปิ่นสักก์ สุรัสวดี อธิบดีกรมทรัพยากรทางทะเลและชายฝั่ง รับมอบ ณ Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World สยามพารากอน  ทั้งนี้ SCGC ได้ร่วมกับ ทช. ติดตั้งทุ่นกักขยะลอยน้ำไปแล้วกว่า 47 ชุด ใน 17 จังหวัดชายฝั่งทะเลทั่วประเทศ สามารถกักขยะได้กว่า 86 ตัน (ข้อมูล ณ ธันวาคม 2566)

นางสาวน้ำทิพย์ สำเภาประเสริฐ ผู้อำนวยการฝ่ายบริหารแบรนด์และกิจการเพื่อสังคม บริษัท เอสซีจี เคมิคอลส์ จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ SCGC กล่าวว่า “วิกฤตการณ์ด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมทางทะเล โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งปัญหาขยะในทะเล เป็นเรื่องที่ทุกภาคส่วนต้องร่วมแรงร่วมใจแก้ไขปัญหาอย่างจริงจังและเป็นรูปธรรม SCGC ได้ขับเคลื่อนภารกิจพิทักษ์ทะเลร่วมกับภาคีเครือข่ายต่าง ๆ ทั้งภาครัฐ และเอกชน รวมถึง ชุมชน เยาวชน และพนักงานจิตอาสามาอย่างต่อเนื่อง รวมทั้งได้นำความเชี่ยวชาญมาออกแบบนวัตกรรมทุ่นกักขยะลอยน้ำ SCGC - DMCR Litter Trap ตั้งแต่ปี 2562 โดยร่วมมือกับสำนักงานบริหารทรัพยากรทางทะเลและชายฝั่งที่ 1 และกลุ่มประมงพื้นบ้าน จ.ระยอง สำหรับทุ่นกักขยะลอยน้ำ SCGC - DMCR Litter Trap ที่มอบให้กับ ทช. ในโอกาสวันทะเลโลกปีนี้นั้น เป็นโมเดล Generation ที่ 3 ซึ่งออกแบบโดยเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพ และปรับเปลี่ยนวัสดุใหม่ สามารถลดน้ำหนักทุ่นได้ถึง 50% ประกอบติดตั้งได้สะดวกและรวดเร็วยิ่งขึ้น รวมทั้งช่วยลดก๊าซคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์จากการเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพด้านการขนส่ง นอกจากนี้ SCGC ยังได้นำทีมพนักงานจิตอาสาร่วมกิจกรรมวันทะเลโลกที่จัดขึ้น ณ จังหวัดระยอง อีกด้วย”

นายปิ่นสักก์ สุรัสวดี อธิบดีกรมทรัพยากรทางทะเลและชายฝั่ง กล่าวว่า “องค์การสหประชาชาติ (United Nations) ได้กำหนดวันทะเลโลกขึ้น เพื่อกระตุ้นจิตสำนึกให้คนทั้งโลกหันมาใส่ใจร่วมกันอนุรักษ์ท้องทะเล กรมทรัพยากรทางทะเลและชายฝั่งจึงได้จัดกิจกรรมในหัวข้อรณรงค์ “Awaken New Depths” หรือ “ปลุกกระแส แก้วิกฤตมหาสมุทร” มุ่งเน้นถึงความเชื่อมโยงระหว่างมนุษยชาติและมหาสุมทร อีกทั้งความรับผิดชอบร่วมกันในการปกป้องระบบนิเวศที่สำคัญ เพื่อความเป็นอยู่ที่ดีของคนรุ่นปัจจุบันและรุ่นอนาคต พร้อมเผยจัดกิจกรรมร่วมกับองค์กร และแพร่ความรู้และรณรงค์ส่งต่อไปยังประชาชนทั่วโลกผ่านเครือข่ายต่าง ๆ ซี่งทุ่นกักขยะลอยน้ำดีไซน์ใหม่ นวัตกรรมเพื่อพิทักษ์ทะเลจาก SCGC เป็นอีกหนึ่งโซลูชันที่จะช่วยขับเคลื่อนการแก้ไขปัญหาขยะทะเลได้ตั้งแต่ต้นทาง เพื่อให้พร้อมรับมือกับความท้าทายเร่งด่วนที่มหาสมุทรกำลังเผชิญ”

งานวันทะเลโลก ประจำปี พ.ศ. 2567 จัดขึ้นโดย กรมทรัพยากรทางทะเลและชายฝั่ง กระทรวงทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม ณ Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World สยามพารากอน มีหน่วยงานทั้งภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน องค์กรภาคีเครือข่าย สถาบันการศึกษา และประชาชน ร่วมงานเป็นจำนวนมาก มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเผยแพร่ความรู้และรณรงค์ให้ทุกภาคส่วนตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของท้องทะเล อีกทั้งกระตุ้นจิตสำนึกให้คนทั้งโลกหันมาใส่ใจและร่วมกันอนุรักษ์ท้องทะเลสืบไป

SCGC Partners with DMCR to "Awaken New Depths" on World Oceans Day 2024; Launches Gen 3 Floating Litter Trap Innovation

Bangkok – 10 June 2024: SCG Chemicals, or SCGC, a leading integrated chemical business for sustainability, continues its mission to protect and restore marine ecosystems and biodiversity by following ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles that promote low waste and low carbon initiatives. SCGC drives "Innovation for Better Marine," which includes innovations such as floating litter traps and SCGC Fish Homes. Additionally, SCGC has co-founded the "Nets Up" network, a model that creates added value through circular economy principles for sustainable oceans. This initiative transforms discarded fishing nets into marine materials, providing new alternative materials through recycling innovation.

On the occasion of World Oceans Day 2024, under the theme "Awaken New Depths," SCGC has donated 25 sets of the “SCGC - DMCR Litter Trap Gen 3” to the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. These floating litter traps are to be deployed at the mouths of rivers and canals to prevent waste from reaching the oceans. The donation was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Police General Patcharawat Wongsuwan, along with Mr. Pinsak Suraswadi, Director-General of the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, at Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World, Siam Paragon. SCGC has previously collaborated with DMCR to install over 47 floating litter traps in 17 coastal provinces across the country, successfully trapping more than 86 tons of waste (as of December 2023).

Namthip Samphowprasert, Brand Management and Social Inclusion Director of SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited, or SCGC, said, "The environmental crisis in marine ecosystems, particularly the issue of marine waste, requires concerted and tangible efforts from all sectors. SCGC has been driving its mission to protect the oceans in collaboration with many network partners, including government and private sectors, as well as communities, youth, and employee volunteers. Since 2019, we have leveraged our expertise to design the SCGC - DMCR Litter Trap in collaboration with the Office of Marine and Coastal Resources Administration 1 and local fishing groups in Rayong province. The SCGC - DMCR Litter Trap models donated to DMCR on this World Oceans Day are Generation 3 models, designed with enhanced efficiency and new materials, which reduce the trap's weight by up to 50%. This makes them more convenient and quicker to assemble and install, while also reducing carbon dioxide emissions through improved transportation efficiency. Furthermore, SCGC has mobilized a team of employee volunteers to participate in World Oceans Day activities held in Rayong province."

Pinsak Suraswadi, Director-General of the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, said, "The United Nations established World Oceans Day to raise global awareness and encourage collective efforts to conserve the oceans. In response, the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources has organized activities under the campaign theme “Awaken New Depths,” emphasizing the connection between humanity and the oceans, as well as our shared responsibility to protect these vital ecosystems for the well-being of current and future generations. He also said that the department would conduct activities in collaboration with organizations and spread knowledge and awareness to the global community through different networks. The newly designed floating litter trap from SCGC represent an innovative solution to tackle marine waste at its source, helping to address the urgent challenges faced by the oceans.

World Oceans Day 2024, organized by the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, was held at Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World, Siam Paragon. The event saw participation from numerous government agencies, private sector, network partners, educational institutions, and the general public. The goal was to share knowledge and raise awareness among all sectors about the importance of the oceans, as well as to inspire global consciousness and collective efforts in ocean conservation.
